SALT FESTIVAL IN STON
One of the most authentic events of the summer takes us to Ston, a small town known for Europe’s oldest active saltworks, impressive walls and excellent oysters. If you missed the traditional salt harvest on 1 August, this is a new chance to become part of this unique event and take part free of charge in harvesting the famous fleur de sel — the most prized product of the Ston saltworks.

Salt in Ston is harvested almost as it was during the Republic of Ragusa — by hand, with the help of the sun, sea and wind, without modern technology.
